What is a stroke (brain attack)? A stroke occurs when a blood vessel breaks in the brain or a blood clot blocks an artery interrupting the blood flow and oxygen to a part(s) of the brain. Once a person has a stroke the affected brain cells begin to die. Depending on what portions of the brain dies an individual may be able to fully recover but 2/3 are left loosing certain abilities as those abilities might not be regained.
